We’d like to thank Heather Lewis for playing piano for us and the Church for providing such a great place to have our concert.

If you have not paid the yearly recital fee of $30 (this is the 3rd concert of 4) please do so. We will have the last solo concert in June before the workshop.

It’s time to enrolling in KCBASS. All students of studio are expected to enroll. If you cannot attend this year please consider making a donation to pay for another students tuition. The workshop is 501(c)3 and your donation is what makes the event one of the best in the world. I hope that all of you parents are as proud of the workshop as you are the reason it exists. As always we can use volunteer help leading up to the workshop in these ways. Ask any company if they would like to donate or advertise. Think about making a yearly donation to the workshop, Help make a meal for faculty, Help host a bass player (we need help in this department as the world cup is the same week), Help Johnny with some organization stuff before the workshop, Help by putting out flyers, share website, post about it, and of course sign up for the workshop (the most important one).

Note: two concerts are both before this concert. So please see if you can attend either or both.

One of our seniors Brandon Lewis is having this great performance where he performs the Carmen in front of the Orchestra (a rare opportunity). Please come out and support your fellow bass players. Also before you watch him play this last group concert you should look at his 4 year old picture on the website Letting the strings fly with Johnny….Yep that is the same peep. Brandon is headed to Kansas University for a sports media degree and of course play Bass in the orchestra. We all look forward to Brandon’s progress in the coming years.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Our Olathe Youth Symphony ensembles will be performing our Spring Concert this Sunday, April 12th at 3:30pm in the Olathe South High School Auditorium.

The concert is FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

Our other Senior Ethan Steiner is also having a concert with his jazz quartet. Ethan is still deciding on if he wants to go to Berkele college, North Texas, or Eastman. He will be a music major with an emphasis on Jazz playing. He has great scholarship offers from all of the schools he audition for. We look forward to his progress wherever he may choose.
